Thorns Collegiate Academy pupil earns place with AFC Telford United U13 Girls

A Thorns Collegiate Academy student has earned a place with AFC Telford United U13 Girls, marking a significant milestone in her football career.

Kaitlyn secured her place in the squad following years of dedication to developing her skills and will now represent the club in the Premier Division of the Central Warwickshire Girls Football League, competing against some of the region’s strongest youth teams.

The signing reflects Kaitlyn’s commitment to the sport and the determination she has shown in balancing her football ambitions alongside her education. The Academy said her success was the result of the resilience, discipline and positive attitude she has demonstrated both on and off the pitch.

AFC Telford United U13 Girls forms part of the club’s youth development pathway, providing talented young players with opportunities to develop in a competitive and supportive environment. Competing in the Premier Division offers players the chance to test themselves against high-quality opposition while continuing their development at a higher level.

School Principal, Nikki Jones, said: “Kaitlyn’s achievement is a wonderful reminder that success is built over time through commitment, resilience and a willingness to keep challenging yourself. Reaching this level in such a competitive sport is something to be incredibly proud of and reflects the effort she has invested over many years.

At Thorns, we’re passionate about helping every young person discover and develop their talents, whatever they may be. Kaitlyn’s achievement shows what can be accomplished through perseverance and self-belief, and we’re delighted to see her hard work recognised. We wish her every success as she begins this exciting new chapter with AFC Telford United.”
