Parents and Carers
Remote education should only be considered where:
- There are academy closures or restrictions on attendance, where academy access for students is restricted.
- An individual student is unable to attend the academy, but is able to learn, these circumstances should only involve a short-term absence.
If your child is in KS3, and not able to attend the Academy for any reason, they should be able to access their L4L lessons and work remotely via Microsoft Teams.
If your child is in KS4, and not able to attend the Academy for any reason our teachers will set classwork online regularly so that students can access it from anywhere. Where students are able to, we expect them to complete the work that is set.
There is also an expectation for students to catch up with any work and learning missed due to absences. In KS3, Microsoft Class Teams contain banks of lesson resources and assignments that students can look back through over time, to catch up with work and for revision. The Student Portal is also a useful source of information and should be checked regularly.
If your child is likely to be absent for a prolonged period of time we can work with you to ensure that suitable work is provided.
