Thorns Collegiate Academy is delighted to announce its upcoming open events in September.
The Academy will be opening its doors to prospective students and their parents on Thursday 19 September 5.30pm-8.00pm and Saturday 21 September 9.30am-12.30pm. No need to book, just turn up.
Thorns Collegiate Academy merges traditional education, technology, and community partnerships to create an innovative learning environment. We nurture not just academic achievements but also focus on the development of the whole person. Our aim is to develop and empower well-rounded, knowledgeable individuals ready to thrive in the modern world.
During the open events, families will have the opportunity to explore subject departments and facilities, speak to staff and students about life at Thorns and meet the Principal.
Principal, Nikki Jones, said: “At our heart, we are about sharing the spirit of education, placing our students at the core of everything we do.
We regard it as a privilege to serve the local community and we look forward to meeting prospective students and their families, where they will be able to experience Thorns first hand.”
Families are advised to arrive early, allowing ample time to get the most of their visit and help make the right, informed decision for your child’s education.
The Academy will also be offering a series of open mornings on Tuesday 24 September, Wednesday 25 September and Thursday 26 September between 9.00am and 11.30am by appointment only. For further details, please contact the Academy directly.
Applications for parents applying for secondary school places through Dudley opens Sunday 1 September 2024 whilst applications through Sandwell are now open. From these dates, parents of children moving into Year 7 will be able to apply for their place via their local authority.
Applications are welcome from students in all local authorities. A guide to applications can be found here on our website.
