Dear families,
I hope this letter finds you well. I write to inform you of a significant change within our school community.
After careful consideration and discussion, Mr Manny Kelay has decided to take a break from his role as Principal at Thorns Collegiate Academy. Mr Kelay has given his all to improving the educational standards and outcomes for students but is exhausted, which is little surprise given just how demanding the role of Headship is. Mr Kelay will be taking a sabbatical until the end of the current academic year.
Ms Nikki Jones, whom you will all be familiar with, will take over immediately as acting Principal of Thorns Collegiate Academy. Ms Jones has worked in education for 30 years. She has been an assistant principal and teaching school director at Shireland Collegiate Academy and previously worked for Worcestershire local authority as Assistant Director of Education. She is an outstanding leader whom I have every confidence in to be able to lead Thorns through this period.
I want to express my sincere gratitude for your ongoing support of Thorns Collegiate Academy and our commitment to providing an outstanding education for your children. Together we will navigate this transition and continue to build on the strengths of the Academy.
