Welcome to curio!
Are your pupils ready for an adventure that combines learning with fun? Welcome to Curiosity Club, a FREE programme that sparks curiosity, encourages creativity, and helps students in year four and five develop essential skills—all through the power of CurioCards! This isn’t your average classroom experience. It’s a hands-on, game-based journey where learning meets excitement, and pupils can collect, explore, and grow!
With CurioCards, every challenge is a chance to discover something new. Whether it’s science, history, math, or the arts, Curiosity Club invites learners to dive deep into the world around them, collecting cards as they complete creative tasks and tackle engaging questions.
What is Curiosity Club?
Curiosity Club is a game-based learning experience that’s all about exploration and independent thinking. Each pupil receives their own starter set of CurioCards, which feature fun challenges, questions, and activities aligned with the Key Stage 2 national curriculum. As learners work through the challenges, they earn new cards, unlocking more exciting subjects and deeper learning.
It’s like a trading card game, but instead of just collecting cards, pupils gain knowledge, build critical thinking skills, and uncover hidden talents along the way. Curiosity Club is designed to make learning feel like an adventure, where every turn is full of discovery!
The Origin of Lumina and Nox: Keepers of curio
Long before our world began, there existed two extraordinary dimensions: Luminara, a realm of boundless light and dazzling colour, and Nocturna, a shadowy expanse filled with mystery and whispers of the unknown. From these realms came Lumina and Nox, twin guardians of curiosity.

Why join Curiosity Club?
-
Spark Curiosity: CurioCards are designed to make learning fun and exciting. Every card introduces a new topic and challenge, encouraging pupils to ask questions, explore new ideas, and get hands-on with the world around them.
-
Build Independent Learning Skills: Pupils will solve problems, complete activities, and collect cards all on their own. This helps them develop confidence, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills—tools they’ll carry with them throughout their education.
-
Support for Families and Teachers: Curiosity Club isn’t just for students. Teachers get access to easy-to-follow guides and step-by-step resources from the Academy to make running the programme a breeze. Families are encouraged to join in too! With support materials for parents, learning continues at home, helping children apply their new knowledge in real-world situations.
-
Celebrate Learning at the Festival of Curiosity: After a year of exploring, creating, and learning, pupils have the chance to show off their CurioCard collections at our Festival of Curiosity—a celebration of everything they’ve accomplished. It’s the perfect way to wrap up the year and celebrate how much they’ve learned!
How does is work?
Curiosity Club is designed to be flexible. Here’s how it works:
After-School Fun: Schools can run Curiosity Club as an after-school programme, giving pupils the chance to explore the curriculum in a creative and fun way. The activities are designed to be easy to implement, with resources for teachers to follow along.
Home Learning: Families can join in the fun, too! With the programme’s parent support materials, learning doesn’t stop when the school day ends. Parents can help their children complete challenges at home, making the learning experience even richer.
Accessible for All: There’s no limit to how many pupils can join, so whether you have a small group or a whole class, everyone can participate. Schools with over 30 students can request extra support from Thorns Collegiate Academy to ensure that every child gets the most out of their Curiosity Club experience.
