Travel and Tourism

Year 11 cohort currently completing the final BTEC Travel and Tourism qualification.

The BTEC Level 1/2 Award in Travel and Tourism provides an engaging introduction to the world of travel and tourism, giving learners the opportunity to develop knowledge and skills through investigating the importance of the travel and tourism sector including accommodation, tourism development and promotion, transport, visitor and attractions. Students will investigate the importance of the travel and tourism sector to the UK and investigate different types of customer and UK destinations. Students will develop transferable skills such as, research, report drafting and writing skills and project management.

Students will study four units:

• The UK Travel and Tourism Sector (external examination)
• UK Travel and Tourism Destinations (Coursework/Project based)
• The Travel and Tourism Customer Experience (Coursework/Project based)
• International Travel and Tourism Destinations (Coursework/Project based)
