“Lives not Knives”

Year 8 L4L students have been studying the theme ‘Tragedy’, and have been looking at historic tragedies such as WW1, Holocaust, Auschwitz and more recent events; Natural disasters, Grenfell Tower, the Manchester bombing and the rising rate of knife crime.

Learning about these events inspired the students to create a display, in which they expressed their thoughts and sympathies to the victims and their families, and offered advice such as, “Carry a knife, you will Ruin a life”, “Lives not Knives”, “Every action has a consequence”, and “Justice for Ryan Passey and other young lives lost to Knife Crime”, to anyone considering carrying a weapon.
